Things You'll Need:
- Makeup brushes
- Stage makeup
- Makeup sponges
- Translucent powder or baby powder
- FX blood (optional)
-
Step 1
Clean the area of skin you want to work on, so you can apply the makeup on a smooth, dry surface.
-
Step 2
To create a realistic fresh bruise, apply a thin layer of dark makeup to the area using a wedge sponge. Maneuver the sponge in short, curved movements to avoid creating a shape that appears fake.
-
Step 3
Use a soft makeup puff and apply translucent powder or baby powder on the bruise to set the first layer.
-
Step 4
Use a bristled sponge to add the second layer. This layer should be a little lighter in color.
-
Step 5
Dust with translucent powder or baby power to set the makeup. Dust with a makeup brush to remove any leftover powder.
-
Step 6
Use these same tips to create the appearance of burns, uneven skin tones or older bruises.
