Ah, college. What a great experience. College is a great place to meet people and to meet a lot of people. Being single in college is pretty easy and chances are many of your friends will be too--at least to start. So here is how to be single in college.

Instructions

    • 1

Take it slow. When you first get to college, you'll realize that many of the new freshman are also single as well. Some people will come in with boyfriends and girlfriends from high school, but many of those will not last--nothing personal, that's just how it works. So there's no reason to be embarrassed if you are single, not at all. Many people will be just like you and you'll enjoy it, almost guaranteed.

Play it cool. College is a lot different than high school. This seems obvious, but in terms of meeting people it's even more different. From day one until graduation day, you will constantly be meeting new people all along the way. There are more places to meet people in college than you can possibly imagine: in the bookstore line, classes, library (often an incredibly social place), cafeteria, sporting events and of course parties. So play it cool and don't jump on the first thing you meet. All that means is that you can hook up with different people in college and still maintain your single status, if that's what you're shooting for. Sex is different in college than in high school. People are looking for a different type of relationship in college, so take it slow and enjoy college life.

Have an open mind. People are looking for different things in terms of a relationship in college. Where in high school, girls and boys might be inexperienced and looking for a boyfriend or girlfriend, many college students just want to have fun and play thins casual. If that's what you are looking for, than more power to you and play that casual game as long as you want. Just make sure you don't get caught up with the wrong type of person who wants something different. Then you might have an issue on your hands.

    • 4

Have a good time. Don't be afraid to experiment with different people and different things--if you want to. Your college years are a great time to take advantage of the opportunities that you will be presented with. Never again in your life will you have the same situations as you will be faced with in college, so jump on them, experiment in different areas and have fun. Of course, though, be safe and always think about what it is you are doing.

    • 5

Don't overdue yourself. There will be a lot of people in college looking for fun and to hook up, but don't bite off more than you can chew here. Weigh your options carefully (or learn them as you go) and don't hook up with everything that moves your direction. This will only get you a bad reputation and hurt your future single life in college.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be safe. Always make sure you are being safe with yourself and your body. Make good decision that keep you in safe, predictable situations and never do something you don't want to do.
