Most of us grew up watching science programs as children. Be it those of us who watched Mr. Wizard in the late 1970's to the 1980's or the younger generation who watched Bill Nye The Science Guy in the 1990's. these men made science fun and they both would demonstrate how to make a wine glass "sing" - creating a resonance by touching the glass to find the harmonic frequency. This article will show you how to create a resonance with a wine glass. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Experiment with using more or less water on your fingertip.

  • Being able to garner a sound from a wine glass takes patience and trial and error.

  • Try adding water into the glass to change the pitch of the resonance.
