How to Make Coffee With a Toddy

True coffee lovers love the sweet aroma of a fresh pot of coffee--cold. The taste is more intense and a lot sweeter than normal percolated hot coffee. The flavor is not at all lost. In order to make great brewed cold coffee you should be using a brewer known as a Toddy and this article will tell you how.

Things You'll Need

• Toddy
• 10+ Hours
• 1 Pound of Coffee
• Cold Water
• Boiling Water

Making Cold Coffee With a Toddy

1. Open the top of the toddy and place your pound of coffee inside. Once it’s done, you can pop the carafe into the refrigerator where it will keep for up to 10 days. When you’re ready to have a nice cup of Joe, mix one part of the concentrate with three parts boiling water. Voila! Yummy java!

2. Fill the toddy entirely full with cold water.

3. Wait at least 10 hours, but 12 is prescribed for the overall best flavor.

4. Slowly remove the stopper to allow the coffee to drip into the carafe.

5. Place the carafe in the refrigerator once it's finished filling.

6. Add one part coffee concentrate to two parts boiling water and stir. Drink up.

Tips & Warnings

• For one 8 ounce cup of coffee you would mix 1/3 cup of coffee concentrate to 2/3 cup of boiling water.

• You may sweeten to your liking.

• If you want cold coffee ignore boiling the water.

• Espresso "sludge" can stain very easily so be careful when removing the stopper.

• Espresso can cause serious stomach issues and migraines when drank excessively.
