Go to street fairs and summer concerts. One of the characteristics about New York that visitors love is the abundance of people. It doesn't matter if they're too busy or walk too fast for your pace, but the number of people in New York on any given time of the day surely makes the city alive. It is in New York that you see a snapshot of the world without leaving the country. New York is particularly a popular site for summer festivals, and people because of these happenings people seem to slow down a bit-- if only to take a peek at what's going on or sample food.

Eat New York food. Hot Dogs. Pastrami. Pizza. No one should leave New York without having tried native New York delicacies. This is one of the top things New York is known for, and it is best enjoyed with a cold drink in one of the many parks around the city. Walk a little slower. Relax. Take the city in slowly. Be glad that you're on a vacation in the greatest city in the world while everyone else has to walk fast because they have to go to work.
