How to Make a Pesto Pizza Appetizer

Are you throwing a party and have no idea of what to make? Maybe you just want to perk up your usual dinner with an easy appetizer. These easy to make pesto pizza appetizers will delight and give you plenty of free time to spend with your guests.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 packs of whole wheat pitas
  • 1 jar prepared pesto sauce
  • 1 bag shredded low fat mozzarella cheese
  • 6 plum tomatoes (optional)
  • 2 baking sheets
  • 1 spoon
  • 1 knife

    Its Time to Cook

  1. Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 350 degrees for your pesto pizza appetizers.

  2. Step 2

    Slice the whole wheat pitas into wedges for your pizzas. Each pita will make 4 wedges. This will make your pesto pizza appetizers the perfect size to pick up.

  3. Step 3

    Slice the plum tomatoes into little rounds. You can omit the plum tomatoes on your version of the pesto pizza appetizers if you would like.

  4. Step 4

    Scatter a single layer of the pita wedges on each baking sheet.

  5. Step 5

    Top each wedge of pita with one tsp of pesto, a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese and 1 to 2 slices of plum tomato. You can adjust the amount of pesto you use on each pesto pizza appetizer depending on your tastes.

  6. Step 6

    Place both baking sheets in the oven until the cheese has melted on all of the pesto pizza appetizers.

  7. Step 7

    Serve warm and enjoy.
