With a pair of nunchucks and plenty of practice, many amazing techniques can be learned. One of the most amazing moves is the shoulder to shoulder throw. This technique throws a pair of nunchucks over one shoulder, than comes around and is tossed over the other shoulder. This technique will be aerial for a few seconds, spinning in the air. These steps should be reversed when practicing this technique with a left hand.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A pair of nunchucks

    Shoulder to Shoulder Throw

  1. Step 1

Hold your nunchuck in your right hand near the top where the rope is attached. Hold the wooden part between your index and middle finger.

  2. Step 2

Practice flipping the rope on the nunchucks all the way over the top of your hand, catching the other wooden handle between your thumb and index finger.

  3. Step 3

When you catch the nunchuck after flipping it over your hand, flip the nunchuck under your arm.

  4. Step 4

Flip the nunchuck high in the air above your shoulder and in front of you. The height of the nunchuck-throw doesn't matter, as long as you clear your shoulder and are able to catch the spinning nunchuck.

  5. Step 5

Catch the nunchuck with your palm facing upwards and your thumb facing out.

  6. Step 6

Twist your wrist inward, swinging your nunchuck down under your armpit.

  7. Step 7

Throw your nunchuck over your shoulder and catch it.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are having difficulty with this technique, practice throwing your nunchuck in front of you in a spinning motion.
  • Be careful not to injure yourself with your nunchucks.
