Dressing for Belly Dancing!
-
1
Get a fitted top or bikini bra top (always midriff baring). These tops usually have beads, beaded bells, or coins on them.
-
2
Wear a hip belt (these also usually have bells, beaded bells, fringe, or coins dangling and hanging off them). Oftentimes these belts are gold or silver, but they can be found in every color of the rainbow.

3
Wear a flowing skirt. These skirts are usually on the longer side. The skirts can be layered, circular, paneled, or straight.
-
4
Accessorize! Tassels, headpieces, scarves, jewelry, headpieces, body decorations, bracelets, anklets, these are all great ways to enhance your belly dancing outfit. Don't wear all of these accessories at once, though, moderation is better. You will notice you never see a belly dancer who has all of these things on at the same time!

Tips & Warnings
Belly dancing is often done barefoot, but you can also wear sandals as well (usually comfortable strapped sandals; often leather). Soleless "foot decorations" are also often worn, a.k.a. barefoot sandals. These are merely decorations.
You can also add a veil to your belly dancing costume (approximately four yard piece of fabric). This is a belly dancing style that has been adopted in the Western world.
