Follow instructions on the back of a cotton swab box. You can try and relieve pressure that way. Sometimes there can be a build up of too much ear wax. That might be what is causing your ear to feel all plugged up.

Stop by a health store and pick up an ear candle. These candles form a little cone extending out from your ear. Once lit, they create suction where you can feel the air moving around inside of your ear. The main purpose for this is to remove any excess ear wax that is in your ear. The ear wax slowly comes out inside the cone of the candle.

Take medicine that has been provided by your doctor, as it can help your ears to pop. A doctor may provide this medicine for people that have liquid in their ears, or possibly an infection. Using the medication like directed will help relieve the pain and pressure.

Make sure not to insert the cotton swab into the ear canal.
Be when using cotton swabs. If the instructions are not properly followed you have a chance of hurting your ear more.
