How to Get Cheap West End Theater Tickets

Any true New Yorker who loves Broadway knows about TKTS, a great outlet for cheap Broadway tickets. What many people do not know however, is that there are TKTS located in London's West End Theater District as well. Here is the best way to get those cheap theater tickets while you are in London

1. Your first step is to write down a list of current playing musicals and plays that are showing in theaters in the West End District. Keep in mind that just like in New York, most brand new or extremely popular shows are not going to make tickets available to a TKTS booth, so be flexible. That is also why you are making a list, so that if your show is not available when you get to the booth you can quickly make a new decision without holding up the line.

2. Next grab some Euros and head on out to the TKTS booth. The booths are located at Leicester Square and Brent Cross. You are going to want to get there at least an hour before the booth opens on busy days, especially weekends. The hours of each location are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for Leicester, and Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Brent Cross Shopping Center.

3. Your final step is to buy tickets and enjoy the show. Remember that you can return to TKTS as many times as you want so spend the week supporting the theater. You wont regret it.

Tips & Warnings

• Unlike the New York TKTS booths, West End accepts credit and debit cards as well as Euro or Sterlings.

• West End TKTS booths do not accept checks, travelers checks or U.S. currency so come prepared.
