Not all of us enjoy doing things alone and need encouragement along the way to keep us motivated. Pole dancing has become quite popular all over the world but if you aren't the greatest at learning things from a video or just on your own, you might want to start your own pole dancing group. Pole dancing is meant to be fun but it also gets you into great shape. Many women might consider trying it but are too shy to do it in front of a large group or do not have a center or facility in their area that provides lessons. This is where you step in and start a group to gather up all these available women.

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • Newspaper
  • An ad you create
  • Phone
  • Dance pole
  • Music
  1. Step 1

Find out who is interested. In order to be able to start the group you need people to form the group. You might already know a few people that want to do it and word of mouth is the best way to get information around to others. If this method doesn't work, consider putting an ad in the paper.

  2. Step 2

Decide where and when you will meet. Depending on how many people actually have a dance pole, this is fairly easy. If you supply the pole, and it is one that is portable, you could meet at different houses each time. Everyone joining the group should sit down and go over schedules to find a good time for you to meet, whether you do it every week, couple weeks, monthly, etc. Keep a schedule book or calendar to make sure all the kinks are worked out.

  3. Step 3

Decide on direction. You might plan to lead the group but if there is nobody with enough knowledge to be the instructor, you might all gather together and appoint someone. You could also take turns being the leader and this will be handy especially if you are all sharing one pole. More than likely others will buy their own after they take this special interest in it.

  4. Step 4

Consider videos or an actual pole dance instructor. You want to talk with the whole group and see if everyone is comfortable learning from each other and videos or if they would prefer having a professional instructor. However, depending on where you live, you might not be able to find a professional instructor that is available to come to your home. Keep this in mind when trying to decide what to do on this.

  5. Step 5

Advertise. If you find your group growing more and more, usually because of word of mouth and you want to get more people involved, advertise it. Run an ad in your local paper, put a note about the group on-line in a forum or blog you visit regularly. Just get the word out and see how many more people join the group.
