It is important that you marry someone that you respect. Dating someone who is our opposite in many ways is exciting and smart. Someone would have to be a narcissist to want a carbon copy of themselves around all the time. However, it is important that you share core values with your soulmate. Here is how you can find a vegetarian love who shares health and animal rights concerns with you.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Volunteer your time with local animal rights organizations. You will meet other volunteers with similar beliefs and concerns. Although not everybody who is concerned with animal welfare is a vegetarian, you are far more likely to meet vegetarians there than in most charities. If you don't meet your soulmate here, you have helped out those in need and may just meet a best friend.

  2. Step 2

Place a personal ad. Although it is not something that many want to talk about, a lot of people both place and respond to personal ads. It's an especially wise choice for vegetarians who want to date other vegetarians. It can be hard to meet somebody with those ideals, and you don't want to compromise your lifestyle for love.

  3. Step 3

Speak to a crush, even if he isn't a vegetarian. Some people will eventually be swayed if they understand what animals go through in the meat industry. Never preach or give an ultimatum to someone you're dating. Like everybody else, your date will want respect. More people inspire other vegetarians by attracting them through positive examples and compassionate dialog than any other route.

  4. Step 4

Shop at vegetarian grocery stores if possible. If you don't have vegetarian marts in your area, consider health food stores. You never know when a conversation can be started.

  5. Step 5

Seek out vegetarian singles events. They have them often in big cities like Los Angeles and New York City. You could even consider starting one in your area if none exist. Chances are, there are a lot of single vegetarians who secretly wish to date a vegetarian kindred spirit.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have fun, and be honest. Let someone know that vegetarianism is a very important part of your life. This will be evident on a first date if you go out to eat at a restaurant.
  • Don't rule somebody out simply because they aren't vegetarian. Keep strong to your beliefs, though.
