Most everyone loves rice plain, but how about adding a twist or two to it. Adding two simple ingredients to plain white rice, such as broccoli and cheese can make plain white rice into a fabulous meal for you and your family.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Cook your rice according to the amount you want. Remember when cooking rice it is always one part rice to two parts water. (example : 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water).

  2. Step 2

Get your broccoli cooked. Steaming the broccoli is the healthiest and the fastest way to get it done. If your are using fresh broccoli, be sure to cut the broccoli into small pieces. If using frozen broccoli, buy the broccoli florets not the broccoli pieces, this is usually more stems than anything. Be sure to cook the broccoli until you can put a fork through it with no effort.

  3. Step 3

Combine the two together and add the cheese inside the casserole dish. Use shredded cheese as it melts evenly. Be sure that all ingredients are incorporated completely.

  4. Step 4

Add extra cheese to the top of the dish and put inside a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add boneless chicken or turkey to make the dish even better.
  • Be careful when taking out casserole dish, can be extremely hot.
