Tips & Warnings
Take the opportunity once the old curtains have been removed to clean the window panes, window sills, window frames, and anywhere else that needs cleaning.
Let your new blinds help you conserve energy. Open them on sunny winter days to warm the room; close them at night to retain heat. Close them tightly during hot summer days to keep the house cooler.
Make sure mounting hardware is securely attached to the window frame. Blinds and frames may be damaged or broken if the mounting hardware should give way, and serious injury could occur if someone is close when this occurs.
Be aware of alarm sensor wires or electric wires when drilling the holes for the mounting hardware. Screwing into or through them could damage the wiring or even cause a fire hazard.
