In order to make the experience even better, you might consider making your own fishing equipment. Imagine the excitement of snagging a whopper on a hook you made yourself. In this article, we will discuss how to make fish hooks.

  • Heavy gloves
  • Needle nosed pliers
  • Wire cutters

  1. Step 1

    Cut of one of the spikes on the barbed wire. Cut the point off at the base, right next to where it is joined to the main wire.

  2. Step 2

    Grasp the barbed end of the point with the needle nose pliers.Make sure that you are wearing the protective gloves as you will need to hold the barb firmly for this step.

  3. Step 3

    Bend the spike so that the barbed end is pointing upward. You will see the hook begin to form as you bend the spike. You can make the actual hook as large or small as you wish.

    Knot a piece of fishing line around the non-barbed end. Make sure to wrap and tie the line tightly so that the hook does not slip. Now you are ready to go fishing!
