Step 1
Purchase a metal or plastic box to keep your supplies in. Label the box lid. You can make a label with a plain piece of paper and pen or marker then tape the label to the lid. You can label the lid with your pet's name if you want. For example, First Aid Kit for Fluffy or Fluffy's First Aid Kit.
-
Step 2
Write emergency numbers on a piece of paper and tape the list to the inside of the lid. Emergency numbers should include the phone numbers of your veterinarian, animal hospital and poison control center.
-
Step 3
Fill the container with the medical supplies listed above and anything else you can think of that may be useful.
-
Step 4
Place your pet first aid kit out of the reach of children but put it in an easy to access area for yourself. Your pet first aid kit will not be of much use if you forget where you put it.
-
Step 5
Replace items in your pet first aid kit as you use them. Remember to restock your kit so that you always have a fresh and ready supply of materials on hand in case you need them.
