Sonicare is the top-of-the-line when it comes to toothbrushes. Some people think it is just like any other electric toothbrush on the market. They are wrong. The Sonicare vibrates at a speed so fast, it actually vibrates the fluid in and around your teeth. This not only cleans the visible face of your teeth, it also knocks off plaque from areas under the gum around the root of the tooth. This achieves something no other toothbrush can accomplish on the market today. The special qualities of a Sonicare make it necessary to alter some of your brushing habits. This guide is designed to help you maximize the benefits and brushing power of your Sonicare toothbrush.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Toothpaste
  • Running Water
Step1
Squeeze a half inch line of toothpaste onto your Sonicare brush head. Then, run it under trickling water for 2 seconds. The best way to scrub your teeth with toothpaste is with water as its aid.
Step2
Vigorously brush the chewing sides of each molar. Manually complete this step. Do not press the "on" button. Also, brush around your entire mouth quickly. This is merely to ensure toothpaste is evenly distributed throughout the mouth. Sometimes the uick vibrating action prevents toothpaste from covering each tooth evenly.
Step3
Press the small round button on the handle of your Sonicare toothbrush. This will turn it on to vibrate. Simply move your toothbrush around your mouth as you would with a regular toothbrush. However, instead of brushing quickly, slowly move your brush around. The vibrating action will take care of the scrubbing. You just need to show it where to go.
Step4
Continue brushing until your Sonicare stops on it's own. Typically, each model runs between 2 to 2 1/2 minutes for each brushing cycle. If you need more time, simply press the "on" button again and finish brushing your teeth. Once you have finished, you can press the "on" button again to tell it to stop pulsing.
Step5
Rinse the brush head thoroughly before returning it to its storage place. When your brush completes its pulsating action, if you hear a beep, place the brush onto its rechargeable base. This way you ensure your Sonicare is always functioning at it's peak level.

Tips & Warnings

  • New Sonicare models come with a UV sanitizer for your brush head. This is very useful because it eliminates harmful bacteria that collects and colonizes on the brush head.
  • Make sure to change your brush head every 3 to 6 months. Often times people neglect changing the Sonicare brush heads because they aren't something you can pick up at every gas station or convenience store. Keep a supply at home and you will never have trouble remembering.
