How to Strengthen Shoulders With BOSU Ball Exercises

The bosu ball can add additional challenges sports conditioning program. The bosu challenges your body by forcing you to fully concentrate on staying balanced. The bosu can be used either ball side facing up or ball side facing downward, hence the name bosu or "both sides utilized."

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bosu ball
  1. Step 1

    Start with the bosu ball flat side facing up and rounded side on the floor. The flat side has two handles that you will want to position parallel to your shoulders.

  2. Step 2

    Start the exercise in the basic push up position with a twist. Your hands will be holding onto the two handles of the bosu ball.

  3. Step 3

    Now begin to do a basic pushup. You will be working on keeping yourself balanced with your core while the act of the push up will strengthen your shoulders.

  4. Step 4

    This is a challenging excercise. Work up to doing 8 repetitions at a time.

Tips & Warnings
  • For an added challenge you can flip the bosu ball around and try the pushups with the rounded side facing upwards.
  • This is not an easy excercise. Do as many reps as possible but do not overextend yourself.
