Take the subway to Brooklyn to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. The rose gardens are beautiful amd there is a water garden full of water lilies near the lunch area. Spend time enjoying the outdoors and then head either to Atlantic Avenue to find a great lunch or explore the Brooklyn Art museum.

Take the subway back to Manhattan and relax at a movie you won' t find playing out in the suburbs. Perhaps you will find a foreign film to expand your cultural experience.
