How to Celebrate the Fourth of July

  1. Step 1

Find a fireworks display. Fireworks go hand-in-hand with the traditional Fourth of July celebration. No matter where you live in the United States, there shouldl be a fireworks show near you. The most popular shows are the Macy's Fireworks Display in New York City and the celebration in Boston with the Boston Pops. You can visit http://www.fireworksguide.com/ to find shows in your area.

  2. Step 2

Attend a parade, which is another Fourth of July tradition. The largest parade in the United States is America's Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C. (http://www.july4thparade.com/). If you can't make it, check your local newspapers the week before the holiday to see what parades will be going on in your area.

  3. Step 3

Invite your friends and family over for a fantastic Independence Day BBQ! Stock up on hot dogs, potato chips, potato salad and cookies. Of course, if you want to step up your game, visit All Recipes (http://allrecipes.com/Info/Holidays/July-4th/Main.aspx) for some unique food that you can serve at your BBQ.

  4. Step 4

Visiting your local park is also a great way to celebrate the holiday. Bring your swimsuit, a cooler and a football for a fun game of touch football and have a picnic.

  5. Step 5

Play ball! If you're an avid sports fan, a great way to spend your Fourth of July is to attend a major league baseball or minor league baseball game. To see which teams are near by, visit MLB.com.
