How to Make BBQ Sauce
Although it seems more convenient to just pick up a bottle of barbecue sauce from the grocery store, making your own is almost just as easy and tastes so much better! The recipe below is super simple to make, and it uses ingredients you probably already have on hand. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1/4 cup Minced Onion
- 1 Minced Garlic Clove
- 1 Minced Jalapeno
- 1 tsp. Butter
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 1 tbsp. Yellow Mustard
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 tsp. Black Pepper
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- Small Pot
- Measuring cups
- Small Mesh Strainer
- Airtight Container with Lid

Place a small sauce pan on the stove and set the burner to low. Melt butter or margarine and add garlic, jalapeno, and onion. Stir vegetables until translucent. Add all other ingredients and bring to a simmer stirring constantly until ingredients are incorporated throughly.

Let simmer for 15 minutes or until thickened.

Turn off heat and let mixture set until cool.

Strain mixture (if desired) into a container with an airtight lid and store in refrigerator for up to 10 days.

Use generously on chicken, beef, pork, fish or vegetables.

Tips & Warnings
For an added kick, add your favorite burbon to the mixture in place of the water.
Be sure to stir mixture constantly so that it doesn't scorch.

eh hello???!!those of you who are not organized and require instant gratification, and enjoy the taste of chemicals and preservatives will always be much better off with the shelf variety. stick to your 'stupid' fast food. -
