Sewing a blind stitch is relatively easy. This stitch comes in handy when you want to prevent ridges from showing at the hemline on the outside of the garment.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Needle
  • Garment
  • Thread
  1. Step 1

Fold the garment right below the hem line (about 1/4") and secure it with your thumb.

  2. Step 2

Starting from right to left, fasten the thread in the hem.

  3. Step 3

Take a tiny stitch about (1/4")to the left of your garment.

  4. Step 4

Take the next stitch 1/4" away from the last stitch.

  5. Step 5

Continue, alternating from garment to hem, keeping an even space between stitches.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the stitches even spaced as uneven spaces will show in your garment.
  • Do not pull the thread too tight as this will create a bulky look to your garment.
