The long range roundhouse kick is similar to the traditional roundhouse kick and is easy to master with a little practice. You can learn how to perfect this move using a punching bag or by simply kicking in the air. The key to this move is learning how to maintain your balance throughout.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Punching bag (optional)

Step1
Stand in a strike position with your hands at your chest.
Step2
Position your kicking leg behind your other leg. Both legs should be bent.
Step3
Pivot on your standing leg as you bring your back leg to the front. Your kicking leg should be bent at the knee as you go into the kick. Use your standing leg for balance.
Step4
Extend your leg fully when performing the long range roundhouse kick.
Step5
Lower your leg and return to a strike position.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stretch for at least five minutes before practicing this kick or any other martial arts moves.
