How to Find A Hobby You Can Stick With
A hobby is a wonderful way to relax and occupy your free time. Hobbies are mainly for interest and enjoyment and not for a financial reward. Although many hobbies are actually career choices for some people, other people simply do the activities just for fun. If you’re looking for a hobby, there are a few things that you can do in order to find a hobby that you can stick with.

1
Make a list of all of the activities you enjoy doing or things that you are interested in learning more about, such as singing, playing sports, cooking and reading.
-
2
Determine if the hobby fits your personal lifestyle easily and do not interfere with your schedule. For instance, decide if the hobby is convenient, affordable, relaxing and realistic. Overall, your hobbies should be time-sufficient and exciting. If a hobby is too challenging, stressful, time consuming or expensive, then that particular hobby might not be appropriate for you. A hobby is not a second job, nor should you go bankrupt trying to fund it.

3
Scratch off the hobbies that appear to be unrealistic to do, too time consuming or just doesn’t fit your schedule. You can have as many hobbies as you like, so don’t worry if there are still a few activities left on your list.
-
4
Go back and number the activities starting with the number 1 (being your most favorite activity), until you’ve number each activity. Simply write a number beside each activity out in the margin, or put it in parentheses.
-
5
Prepare for your hobby. Look at the number 1 choice on your list and create a "things to do list" for it. You may need to purchase a few things to get started with your hobby (such as arts & crafts), or you might need to complete a registration process (for example, signing-up to play softball for a local team in your community). Be sure to write down how many hours you plan to devote to the hobby and how much money you are willing to spend for it.
-
6
Spend a little time doing the hobby and see if you like it. Give yourself some time to get the swing of it (at least two weeks). If it doesn’t work out for you, then try moving on to the second hobby on your list. Be sure to try out each hobby on your list until you've found the right one (or ones) to do.
