How to Make a Gestures Thesaurus
Eyebrows can raise, knit together, create question marks, and "v" down in anger, but that's only the tip of the iceberg. A gestures thesaurus includes emotions that create gestures, group gestures, various hand, eye, mouth, body movements that reflect the character at the moment.

1
Open a spreadsheet and list the various parts of the body across as titles. Consider extremities, fingers, toes, arms and the head.
-
2
Break down the body parts to other parts. For example, the head might include the face parts: nose, lips, tongue, ears, cheeks.
-
-
3
Sit in a public place and watch people and take notes. Record things you see on a day to day basis. Use whatever tools you can to access these gestures and record them under the various parts.
-
4
Break the spreadsheet into emotions. List gestures that accompany these emotions and list them under the headings.
