Shrimp pasta is a delicious and filling dish that is surprisingly easy to make. Read on for step-by-step instruction on how to prepare this delectable main course.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 16 oz. package of pasta, linguini or fettuccini
  • 1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped basil, oregano, and parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 3 tbsp. butter

How to Make Shrimp Pasta

Step1
Begin by preparing the pasta first. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add pasta (a 16 oz. package of pasta will make about four servings). Cook until tender, about 5-10 minutes; drain in a colander and place in a large bowl. Add three tablespoons of butter and set aside.
Step2
Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a medium-sized saucepan. Add parsley, basil, oregano and garlic, while stirring constantly. Cook until mixture boils and thickens.
Step3
Next, add shrimp and saute for about 5 minutes, or until thoroughly cooked. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Stir entire mixture for about one minute.
Step4
Finally, add the seasoned shrimp to the pasta. Stir completely and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

  • There are many different ways to make shrimp pasta. The only constant ingredients being shrimp, pasta and butter or oil. If you don't like garlic, try adding flakes of red pepper. You can also add grated Parmesan cheese or freshly chopped tomatoes. The possibilities are endless so don't be afraid to get creative with this delectable dish. You may even come up with an entirely new recipe for shrimp pasta in the process.
