Frontline Plus is available for both dogs and cats. It is one of the most effective preventative products on the market today. It is easy to apply and only takes about a minute of your time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Frontline Plus (the correct type and dosage for your pet)
  • Scissors
  • Your pet
  1. Step 1

Purchase the correct type of Frontline Plus for your pet, for either a dog or a cat. Check the label on the box to make sure you are purchasing the correct dosage, according to the weight of your pet.

  2. Step 2

Open the box. The applicators should be green. If yours are blue, you have regular Frontline. (Frontline Plus kills eggs and larvae in addition to adult fleas and ticks.)

  3. Step 3

Separate one of the applicators from the pack using scissors to cut it off. You may also tear at the perforation if you do not have scissors.

  4. Step 4

Snip or tear off the top of the packaging around the applicator. Peel off the foil backing and remove the applicator.

  5. Step 5

Hold the applicator upright and snap off the tip, making sure you snap it away from you.

  6. Step 6

Remove your pet's collar if it is wearing one.

  7. Step 7

Part your pet's hair somewhere between the shoulder blades. You should be able to see a bare patch of skin. This may be a little tricky if your pet has very thick hair. If your pet moves around a lot you may want to have someone help by holding the pet still.

  8. Step 8

Place the tip of the applicator directly on the bare skin where you have parted the hair. Squeeze the entire contents of the applicator onto the skin. (After you have done this, you may put the collar back on.)

  9. Step 9

Repeat this procedure once a month.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not bathe your pet or let it swim for 24 hours after application.
  • Do not use any other flea and tick treatments (such as a flea collar) while your pet is on Frontline Plus. Using more than one preventative can cause an unhealthy build-up of medication in the bloodstream.
