How to Make a Chicken Burrito

Burritos are one of the most delicious and versatile foods you can find and yet very few people ever make one for themselves. Instead they normally go to a restaurant or a drive-thru. Things You'll Need

  • Cooked rice
  • Skinless chicken breast
  • Meat tenderizer
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • ½ tsp. cumin
  • Olive oil
  • 2 whole bell peppers
  • 1 whole onion
  • Can of beans
  • Lime juice
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

      Cook rice per package directions.

      Take a skinless chicken breast and beat both sides with a meat tenderizer for approximately 5 minutes total, depending on the size of the breast.

      Slice the chicken breast horizontally, then vertically, so that you’ve cut it up into small, square-shaped pieces.

      Season the chicken with garlic powder, chili powder and cumin. Sprinkle the lime juice, then set the chicken aside.

      Heat a skillet on medium and add desired amount of olive oil.

      Dice bell peppers and onion on a clean cutting board.

      Add refried or pinto beans into a pot, cover, and cook on medium. Wait 5 minutes.

      Place chicken into the skillet. Once it starts to brown, add the bell peppers and onions.

      Stir the contents of the skillet, adding additional seasoning and lime juice if desired.

      Lay out a tortilla and layer the contents in the middle of the tortilla. Add cheese and fold the sides of the tortilla over one another.

Tips & Warnings

  • You might want to use a toothpick if you’re having trouble keeping the burrito closed.
