How to Pick a Wedding Party

Planning a wedding is stressful. There are so many things to think about and people to please. Picking a wedding party can be equally stressful as you may feel obligated to include certain people whether you would like to or not.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the maid of honor and best man first. These should be the easiest people to select as they are typically the people to whom you are closest. They should be willing and capable of throwing you a bachlorette/bachelor party as well as a bridal shower and arranging other events and items.

    • 2

Compile a list of potential people to stand beside you. These should be people who love and support you.

    • 3

Re-examine your list. Are there people on your list that are just there because you feel pressured to include them? A lot of times people (especially family members) tend to impose their opinions on you and pressure you to do what they want. If there is someone you don't get along with or don't like or think will make your experience less than wonderful, don't include them. Just because someone is a sibling, childhood friend or future in-law doesn't mean they are right to stand by you. Give them something else to do in the wedding if they really must be included.

Compare the list of bridesmaids to that of the groomsmen. Make sure there isn't any impending conflict that you can foresee or any other complications.

    • 5

      Ask your bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Tips & Warnings
