The .357 Magnum cocktail is named after a brutally effective type of firearm caliber. This may seem somewhat ironic to those consuming it after they taste its relatively sweet flavors and discover that it isn't a particularly potent cocktail. It is, however, a delicious one.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 shot of vodka
  • 1 shot of spiced rum
  • 1 1/2 shots of Amaretto
  • Lemon-lime soda
  • Ice
  • A pint glass
  • 1 slice of lemon (optional garnish)

How to Make Your Own .357 Magnum Cocktail

  1. Step 1

Fill the pint glass halfway with ice.

  2. Step 2

Pour the vodka over the ice.

  3. Step 3

Pour the rum into the glass.

  4. Step 4

Fill the glass to within a half inch of its rim with lemon-lime soda.

  5. Step 5

Stir to combine the ingredients thoroughly.

  6. Step 6

Top off the pint glass by filling it the rest of the way with Amaretto.

  7. Step 7

Garnish with a slice of lemon placed on the rim of the glass if desired.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not stir the Amaretto into the drink. Instead, let it float on top and sip the drink to get a "layered" effect.
  • You can experiment with different flavored vodkas to add new flavor dimensions to the drink. Citrus flavored vodkas work in the .357 Magnum particularly well, but experimenting to find your own favorites is half the fun.
  • Cheap Amaretto knock-offs don't work nearly as well in this recipe.
  • Never drink and drive.
  • Drink responsibly.
