How to Date After a Bad Break Up

  1. Step 1

Exude a positive attitude. When you begin dating after a bad break up you will need to exude a positive attitude. It is extremely helpful if you actually have a positive attitude regarding dating again because it will allow you to be more successful. The people you date can tell if you are jaded, sarcastic, or pessimistic about dating and that won't help you start a relationship. So, make sure you have a positive attitude about looking for love again before you start dating after a bad break up.

  2. Step 2

Try, try, and try again. Remember, after a bad break up you are not guaranteed to find love again on the first try. This does not mean you are destined to be alone for the rest of your life. It just means that particular date is not for you. So, relax, and know that every bad date you go on is just one less you have to go on before you find the right one for you! It could take two dates or 10, but you will find the right person for you.

  3. Step 3

Wait until you are over your last relationship. After a bad break up you will be devastated and need to mourn the relationship. Take your time, get over your last relationship, and then look for a new one. When you are truly over your last relationship then you will be able to enjoy dating again and have a better chance of falling in love again.

  4. Step 4

Be social. In order to successfully find dates after a bad breakup you need to be social. This means you need to go to places where you can meet other singles. Go out to bars, to church, clubs, even the grocery store. You need to make yourself available to meet others or you will find it very difficult to meet someone whether it is after a bad break up or not.
