2
Create a list of all of the things you want to include in your resume. Make a rough draft of your resume. Begin by developing your objective statement (inform the reader of the type of job you want and your overall career goal). Be sure to list your education and work experience in chronological order beginning with your most recent experience. Use short bullet sentences under each section (instead of lengthy paragraphs), along with strong action verbs (such as prepared, managed, developed and produced) and headings for each section. Make sure that your resume is no longer than 2 pages in length.

4
Develop your actual resume using a universal software program such a Microsoft Word. Also, type your document using an easy to read format such as a 12 point font size and Times New Roman. Use bold and italics sparingly because too much bold and italics can be very distracting to the reader.

Proofread your resume and make any necessary corrections. Be sure to use the spell check function, and read over your resume at least two times.

6
Save your resume to a disk, and print several copies of your resume on professional resume printing paper.
