You don't have to be Italian to make a great Spaghetti Sauce. All it takes is patience and a great recipe. By following this recipe you will never again want to buy sauce out of a jar. It takes time but the wait will be more than worth it. In this article we will show you how to make a great Spaghetti Sauce.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 Large Cans of chopped tomatoes
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Small can of tomato paste
  • 1 Large onion
  • 3. Medium sized pork chops
  • table spoon of olive oil
  • cup of red wine
  • tsb of oregano

How to make a Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Step 1

Chop the onions and garlic as finely as possible. Then saute in the olive oil until the onions go soft. You can add some of the tomato paste to the mix to get the flavors circulating.

  2. Step 2

In a large sized pot place the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste onions and pork chops. Use the empty tomato cans and add about three cans of water to the mix. This sauce will simmer for over 3 hours so the water will cook off. There will be opportunity to add more if you feel the sauce has reduced too much.

  3. Step 3

Cook the mixture on a medium heat for about 3 hours. Check it frequently and give it a good stir. Add water or reduce heat as needed.

  4. Step 4

Add the red wine about 2 1/2 hours into cooking. This will reduce the acid taste that can develop. Add the oregano at this time as well. If you have an aversion to alcohol, you can use a half cup of sugar. This works just as well.

  5. Step 5

Serve with pasta after the 3 hours of cooking are finished. Top with Parmesan or mozzarella cheese for an added touch if you desire.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're not a fan of Pork chops, Italian sausage also works well with this recipe.
  • Keep the pork chops aside to serve at another time.
