From Quick Guide: Cooking Techniques
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shelled or in-shell raws peanuts
  • Conventional oven
  • Cookie sheets
  • Salt
  • Other seasonings as desired
  1. Step 1

For shelled peanuts, freeze them overnight and rub the skins off with your fingers before roasting. It's fine if some of the skins remain on. For peanuts in the shell, leave as is.

  2. Step 2

Spread peanuts in a shallow layer on a cookie sheet.

  3. Step 3

Roast in the oven at 350 degrees F for 15 to 20 minutes for shelled peanuts and 20 to 25 minutes for in-shell peanuts.

  4. Step 4

Let peanuts cool on sheets, then season with salt.

Tips & Warnings
  • Peanuts are great with Cajun seasoning, herbs, garlic, cinnamon or a light dusting of sugar.
  • Because of the fat content, peanuts get very hot. Handle carefully.
