Get Coverage for Pre-Natal Care
Step1
Go to your local social services department and apply for Medicaid. This option is appropriate if you don't have access to health insurance and/or if you have limited resources. In order to qualify for Medicaid you will need to have an income, or lack there of, that falls below a certain cut off point. Medicaid can be used for pre-natal, delivery and post-natal care.
Step2
Talk to your current health care provider to see if pregnancy related coverage can be added to your policy. Usually, when you take out a health insurance policy you are asked if you want to include pregnancy related coverage. If you already checked yes and have kept your policy current then you have coverage for pre-natal care already. However, if you declined this coverage because you didn't need it or couldn't afford it before, now is the time to add it.
Step3
Work with your college's health center to understand what pre-natal care is covered by your student health care plan. Most colleges required that their students take out a college sponsored health insurance policy. These policies are major medical policies and they usually cover pregnancy related care such as pre-natal care.
