Instructions

  1. Build a snowman placemat

    • 1

Cut the snowman body, which is a big white circle, a smaller white circle and of course, the smallest little white circle for the head. You will also need to cut a small hat with the black paper.

    • 2

Have the preschooler lay the bigger white circle on a large sheet of red or green construction paper; position is important, as the whole snowman needs to fit on the paper. Allow the preschooler to use a stick of glue across the large white circle and turn it over and lay it on the largest paper. Direct the preschooler to position the big white circle in the center of the page near the bottom of the largest piece of paper.

    • 3

Pick up the medium sized white circle, hand it to your child, and allow them to glue it and stick it on top of the larger white piece so that it overlaps it a bit. Then do the same with the smallest white circle and the hat. Allow them to color in the smiling face, arms and of course the black spots on the middle white circle when it is dry.

    • 4

Allow your preschooler to add in a broomstick or snowflake stickers and be sure to write his or her name on this white paper. Your preschooler can color snowflakes on this paper to make it truly unique and your child could add in a photograph of the child or a favorite pet.

    • 5

Cut a piece of the clear contact paper and lay it flat on a table sticky side up and lay the snowman paper on it upside down and smooth these two together. Cut another piece of clear contact and use it on the back so that your placemat becomes waterproof.
