Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 foot long loaf of French bread
  • 1 8 ounce block of mild cheddar cheese
  • 1 8 ounce block of mozzarella cheese
  • Garlic
  • Soft spread butter
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Cut the French bread loaf in half. Then cut each side in half. This will leave four separate pieces of bread.

  3. Step 3

Use a butter knife to spread the soft spread butter on each piece of bread. Make sure to go to the edges. Do not skimp on the butter for best results.

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle garlic powder over each inch of the buttered bread. Make sure not to skimp for best results.

  5. Step 5

Use a grater to shred mild cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese into a bowl. Mix together for a blended look.

  6. Step 6

Sprinkle cheese mixture on each slice of buttered garlic bread. Smooth cheese to the edges.

  7. Step 7

Place the four pieces on a cookie sheet. Place in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Check occasionally. Do not over bake or the bread will become crunchy.

  8. Step 8

Remove from the oven and serve hot.
