How to Tie a Scarf Butterfly Wrap

The butterfly wrap is very popular in Jerusalem. Because it utilizes two scarves, it looks fuller and more elegant than a single-scarf wrap. Follow these easy instructions for tying a butterfly scarf wrap.

Things You'll Need:

• Two scarves of complimentary colors. One can be fringed.

1. Fold one non-fringed head scarf from corner to corner into a triangle.

2. Lay the head scarf on top of your head, with an even amount of fabric hanging over each side and be sure it's almost down to your eyebrows.

3. Place the second head scarf on top of the first, only further back, at the hairline.

4. Roll the front of the first head scarf back on top of the second, creating a "headband" effect.

5. Continue rolling down the sides until you get to the nape of your neck and tie off all four corners with a knot. This makes the butterfly.

Tips & Warnings

• Be sure to select a fabric that isn't slippery.
• You might need to practice the butterfly scarf tie several times until you find a way you like it.
