How to Make a Healthy Fried Dough Snack
You can make a healthier version of fried dough at home, with just a few ingredients. It's not fried and it's not dough, but your taste buds will not know the difference. Unlike traditional fried dough, this healthier version of fried dough is not sopping with grease. A typical piece of fried dough, or an elephant ear, as they are sometimes called can have about 700 calories. This healthier version of fried dough has less than half that number of calories. Things You'll Need
- A package of Naan bread
- An oven or a grill
- A piece of aluminum foil
- A low-fat butter spray or low-fat margarine
- One teaspoon of Chinese Cinnamon
- One tablespoon of white sugar
- A small bowl
- One spoon

Turn the oven on broil. While the oven is heating up, mix a teaspoon of Chinese Cinnamon with a teaspoon of white sugar. Vary the portions to taste. Mix in a small bowl with a spoon. Or heat up a grill if the oven cannot go to broil.

Watch the bread as it bubbles and browns slightly. Only keep the bread in the oven for one to two minutes. Do not let it get too brown around the bubbled edges. Carefully remove the bread from the oven.

Spray a low-fat butter peaks and valleys of the puffed up bread. Or use a butter knife to spread the butter or margarine product. The butter spray is what will help keep the cinnamon and sugar mix on the bread.
