Starting your own T-shirt-selling business can seem like a daunting task, but it is an easy and passive income once you are set up.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Graphics software, such as Paint Shop Pro
  • Free CafePress account
  1. Step 1

Go to the CafePress website and set up a free account (see Resources below). The setup is easy. You need to provide your personal information to get your payments.

  2. Step 2

Peruse the site's numerous templates for designing your T-shirts with. For instance, a T-shirt template is actually three parts, such as front pocket, back shoulder and front image. All three templates are different sizes, so making sure you are using the right one will save you lots of time.

  3. Step 3

Create your T-shirt designs in your favorite graphics program. A great one to use is Corel Paint Shop Pro, but you can also use Adobe. After your images look great to you, compress them to get a small file size to load them more easily. Do not change the size of the graphic itself because then it will not fit properly.

  4. Step 4

Upload your images to your account within CafePress, where you can add them to many items other than just T-shirts. When you add an image to a T-shirt, you can tweak it a little.

  5. Step 5

Set your T-shirts to go live along with your other products. If you use the correct tags, your products can be easily found and will sell. Be sure to use descriptive tags, since this makes them more likely to come up in the search engines. You get to choose how much they cost. There is a base price for everything in the store, but you can add a few bucks to the base price for your profit.

Tips & Warnings
  • The beauty of the CafePress T-shirt store is that your T-shirts could continue selling for years if you keep them posted.
  • Not only can you start your own T-shirt business here, you can add any design you create to mugs, mouse pads, tote bags, boxes and a whole lot more.
  • CafePress actually takes care of everything else, from collecting the money to creating and shipping the shirt. All you do is create the design and upload it onto different products. This is a great passive income for anyone who loves to be creative.
