Clear a nice sized area for your burn pit, making sure it is not around trees, brush or any buildings to prevent fires. This area should be void of rocks, and pebbles, which will fly up and hurt someone when heated.
Step2
Make sure the area is flat. Use a shovel if needed to level out the land around the perimeter of your burn pit and rake if needed. The perimeter needs to be level so that the bricks will sit steady and not tip easily.
Step3
Set bricks in a square formation with the holes up, after the area has been leveled. Make a line of six cement bricks for each of the four sides. Once you have the first row completed, continue with a second and third row. Be certain that each brick is set securely on the brick underneath.
Step4
Mix up a batch of the quick set concrete and pour it down through the holes in each pile of bricks. Once you have filled each hole continue with the rest of the holes and allow it to set up for a day or so until the cement is dry.
Tips & Warnings
Your fire pit will last a long time with normal use and can contain any burnable material you put in it.
This task of building a fire pit should be reserved for adults, or older teenage children.
Make sure any fire built in the fire pit does not get too big or it will get out of control.
