Visit the IRS website. The IRS website has become a user-friendly way for you to apply for a business EIN without having to pick up the phone and call. With a few easy clicks, you will have applied for the EIN. Type or cut and paste this url into your internet browser: https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/modiein/individual/index.jsp.

Complete the online application. Hit the "Begin Application" button toward the bottom of the page. You will then need to complete each question on the application before hitting the "Continue" button at the bottom of each page.

Submit the application. Once you have completed all of the questions, you will be able to submit your online application.

Apply by phone. If you have any problems completing the online application or you prefer to apply by tetephone, call (800) 829-4933. An IRS employee will take your information by phone, assign an EIN Number and provide it to you before the call is over.
