Things You'll Need:
- Clothes line and clothes pins
- Drying racks
-
Step 1
Set up some racks or a clothes line. If the weather will permit you to dry your clothes outside, set up an old-fashioned clothes line by stringing a thick rope from one high surface to another. You can also purchase and install a clothes line system that makes hanging and retrieving clothes more convenient. If you won't be taking your clothes outside, buy a few drying racks and set them up in the warmest spot in your home.
-
Step 2
Wring out water. If your clothes are super soaked, wring out as much water as you can by placing both hands around each piece of clothing individually and squeezing with some power.
-
Step 3
Shake out your wet clothes. Pick up each piece of clothing separately and shake it out using both hands and some force. This will remove some of the wrinkles.
-
Step 4
Hang your clothes. Hang each piece of clothing individually using either clothes pins for your clothes line or heavy plastic hangers for a standing drying rack. If you are using a low horizontal drying rack you should drape each piece of clothing over the bars.
-
Step 5
Use a space heater if necessary. If the place where you are drying your clothes is particularly cold and you have access to a small, safe, and modern space heater, position it about three feet away from your clothes and turn it on medium heat. This will cut drying time dramatically.
