Step 1
If you smoke around your pet this may account for the sneezing and wheezing. Second-hand smoke can have its effects on pets too. Some pets are also allergic to cigarette smoke. If you smoke try not to do so around your pet, especially if she suffers from allergies or asthma.
-
Step 2
Put moisture in the air with a humidifier. Winter heating and air condtioning in the summer can both create dry air in the home. Dry air causes the nasal passages to dry out and can affect your cat's breathing.
-
Step 3
Choose a low dust litter, preferably one that clumps. Litter that creates a good bit of dust when scratched can affect your cat's breathing.
-
Step 4
Clean and vacuum often to keep dust to a minimum especially if your cat seems to be allergic to house dust.
-
Step 5
Give your cat a vitamin supplement to promote a healthy and strong immune system.
-
Step 6
Try to eliminate stress in your cat's environment. Sources of stress can include moving to a new home or introducing a new pet to the household. If your pet is stressed it could cause asthma or allergies to flare up. Stress can affect your pet's health just as it does your own so try to keep your cat's environment content and stress free.
