How to Use Styling Cream on African American Hair

African-Americans often have hair that is very dry. This hair type is dependent on styling cream or grease to maintain the shine and health everyone desires. This article explains how to properly use these products to get your hair looking its best.

Things You'll Need

• Hair styling cream (such as Blue Magic, Super Gro, Do Gro, or Pink Oil mosturizer)
• Comb with thin teeth
• Brush

Instructions

1. Part hair in sections with a thin-tooth comb. Make sure the sections aren't too wide because you will need to oil the scalp completely.

2. Using your finger, apply the styling cream across each part on the scalp. You only need a small amount.

3. Rub a larger amount of styling cream in the palm of your hand and apply it to the length of your hair making sure to rub the ends. Brush in completely.

4. Repeat daily before styling.
