The "A Day at the Beach" cocktail is one of the better tropical drinks around today. It is intensely sweet and perfect for a summer day sitting around the pool, and even better when served beach-side. Make your own, drink your own and share some with friends.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 shot of coconut rum
  • 1/2 shot of Amaretto
  • Orange juice
  • Grenadine
  • Ice
  • 1 martini shaker
  • 1 rocks glass or martini glass
  • 1 pineapple wedge

    How to Make Your Own A Day at the Beach Cocktail

  1. Step 1

    Fill your rocks glass, or martini glass (use whichever you prefer), completely full of ice. Leave this glass aside to chill while you mix up the your A Day at the Beach.

  2. Step 2

    Fill the martini shaker almost completely full with ice.

  3. Step 3

    Add the coconut rum, Amaretto, grenadine, and orange juice to the martini shaker.

  4. Step 4

    Place the martini shaker's lid firmly on top and shake the mixture vigorously for 30-45 seconds.

  5. Step 5

    Remove the ice from your now-chilled glass (rocks or martini).

  6. Step 6

    Strain the mixture from the shaker into the chilled glass.

  7. Step 7

    Strain any excess mixture that won't fit into your glass into a separate container.

  8. Step 8

    Garnish the finished product with a pineapple wedge. Serve immediately.

  9. Step 9

    Serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're in a really hot area, add a few ice cubes to your finished A Day at the Beach to keep it from becoming too warm.
  • Soaking your pineapple wedge in coconut rum for 1-2 days before including them in the A Day at the Beach will give the drink a whole new level of delicious flavor.
  • Don't leave the A Day at the Beach mixture in the martini shaker any longer than is absolutely necessary. Doing so may water the drink down and severely interfere with its ultimate taste characteristics.
