How to Make an iPod Playlist
Making an iPod playlist is a great way to organize your music. It is also ideal for making special music mixes for friends or for special occasions. A great addition to any gift is a music mix tailored to the receiver's taste in music.
Instructions
-
-
1
Download a free copy of iTunes from the Apple website, and copy any CDs you have to iTunes. You also can purchase MP3 files from an online MP3 library.
-
2
Open iTunes. Go to "File" and select "New Playlist."
-
-
3
Find the "Untitled Playlist" in the left-hand column of iTunes in the "Playlist" section.
-
4
Decide on the type of iPod playlist you want to create. Choose a genre of music, a musical artist or make the iPod list from music that evokes a certain mood. You also can choose songs for relaxation or exercising, or make a playlist of your favorite songs.
-
5
Click on a song you want to add to the iPod playlist, and drag it to the "Untitled Playlist." Do this for each song you want on the playlist.
-
6
Double-click on the folder and give it a descriptive name.
-
7
Rearrange the songs in the iPod playlist by clicking and dragging them in the order you want. Listen to the beginning and the end of each song to help you decide on the order of the songs. You can change the iPod playlist by removing song files or adding new ones. Remove songs that don't fit by dragging them out of the iPod playlist to the trash folder.
-
8
Sync the iPod to transfer the new iPod playlist to the iPod. Update or change the iPod playlist at any time by editing the iPod playlist on your computer and syncing the iPod.
