1. Look through your rare comic books and make a list of the condition of each book. A simple tear on the cover or a missing page can significantly lower the value and price of the book.

2. Check the value of the books by looking through an up to date price guide. You should also look online for the prices that the books are bringing because that will show you the accurate current price. A value guide usually lists the value of the comics, but not the price they bring in the real world.

3. Use the phone book to find comic book stores in your area and call each one to ask about their policy on buying rare books. Many places require you to bring the books into the shop for their sales associates to look at in person.

4. Make sure your books are in good condition by placing each one in a special comic book bag with a comic board inside. This keeps the books protected from the environment and anything that might happen to them otherwise.
