Craigslist is a great way to find employment locally. There are several ways to find a job on this one Web site. Use the following instructions to help you find your next employment opportunities.

Go to Craigslist and choose the location where you want to find a job. These are broken down by metro areas, so if you can't find your city, chose the closest one to you.

Create an account.

Have your resume available to send to any employers that you are considering.

Post your resume under the "Resume" section. Employers can find you while you continue your search.

Think of what you're good at. If there are any specific services that you can offer, post them under the "Services" section. Put in as much detail as possible: location, rates and specific service information.

Check the "Jobs" section as often as you can. Depending on the metro you've chosen, there can be hundreds of job postings a day.

For immediate hire, check the "Gigs" section. These are normally one-time jobs, but need to be done quickly. You might get lucky and find a gig that turns into long term.

Check the "Community" section for certain jobs such as child care.

Before you decide to respond to an ad, read all of the information carefully so you know how to reply. Also, there are a lot of scammers on Craigslist. They are easy to identify after a while.

Highlight a post when you read it. Sometimes people white out some text that they have to put in the post, but don't want others to see.
If you feel like something isn't quite right, don't send your resume or any other personal information. Inquire about the ad and respond according to the responding email.
If you notice any suspicious activity on Craigslist, flag the post immediately to prevent anyone from being a victim.
