More likely than not, blind dates turn out to be disastrous. After all, you don't actually know the person you're about to spend a few hours with. They may turn out to be unattractive for your taste, boring, pretentious--basically incompatible. If you're not prepared to be upfront about your disinterest in seeing them again--or even going through with the date, here are some ways to repel a bad blind date, without insulting the person.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • The ability to read people
  • Good amateur acting skills

Take a crash course in analyzing the person first!

  1. Step 1

Analyze the person's personality and likes and dislikes as quickly as possible. Make mental note, as fast as you can, of what they like to do in their spare time, what movies they like, what they value most--just as you would on any other date.

  2. Step 2

Turn yourself into what you believe the other person will find as a bad match. In other words, if the person mentions he or she loves the outdoors and playing sports, emphasize how much you hate nature and working out and sweating, even if this is not the case.

  3. Step 3

Talk incessantly about your idea of the perfect relationship and what you want to do in the immediate future. First, talking about yourself a lot tends to bore people in general, and second, base your answers according to what you think they will not agree with and what could scare them off. For instance, if they mention they like to go out to bars and have fun, state repeatedly that you're looking to settle down, get married and start a family as soon as possible.

  4. Step 4

Talk about your parents. A lot. There's nothing more boring than hearing about a stranger's family.

  5. Step 5

If you're a girl on a date with a guy, talk about things most guys cannot stand--shopping, make-up, hair, nails and your female friends. If you're a guy on a date with a girl, talk about competitive sports, action films and comic books.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to be subtle about it all--you don't want them to figure out you're lying. Be enthusiastic, but about issues you think they will hate.
  • Do not pretend or act like a psychopathic or otherwise dangerous person to ward off your date.
  • Do not insult your date or use offensive language. It is classless.
